Health Technology Assessment—Rapid Assessment
This report describes well-developed HTA programs from the US, Canada, Australia and select European countries. Individual HTA programs were identified on the availability of having documents in English and/or that were discussed in the International Journal of Technology Assessment in Health Care 2009 supplemental volumes (Suppl 1 and 2) on HTA programs.
In countries with multiple HTA programs, the program with the most explicit link to public resource allocation/decision making was selected for review. Websites for each HTA program and published documents were hand searched to retrieve information on processes and structure. Appendix B of the full report provides a list of all HTA programs scanned for inclusion.
